- City of Burnaby does not pick up *any* Styrofoam! Residents are requested to take it instead to a proper disposal depot, the Burnaby Eco-Centre, or United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre Coquitlam.
- As a convenience to residents, strata fees are used to pay a volunteer to take small size Styrofoam for disposal, e.g., ONLY egg cartons & food containers *but* NOT any packaging or shipping Styrofoam.
- All small containers must be rinsed, stacked or flattened, before putting neatly into the pickup bins (not the yellow or blue bins!).
- Residents are especially required to take large Styrofoam to a recycle depot themselves, e.g., shipping, packaging, or rigid blocks/strips.
- Bylaw 6.2 Garbage: Violators may be issued a $50 fine per incident. Security camera evidence may be used.
- Canada Post issued a warning that if anything, especially Styrofoam, is obstructing or blocking mailbox access -- delivery will be stopped.
